Dr. Mahmoud Tavakoli is professor of Electrical engineering of the University of Coimbra. He is the principle investigator of the Soft and Printed Microelectronics Lab with several national, CMU-Portugal and EU funded projects on soft, stretchable and printed micro electronics. Tavakoli Received his PhD in Automation and Instrumentation from University of Coimbra, Portugal in 2010, and his MSc in Mechanical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Iran. He is the author of more than 60 publications as patents, book, book chapters, Journal article, and conferences. His current research ares include Stretchable Electronics, Printed Electronics, Bio-monitoring, Soft Robots, Grasping, Tactile sensing , and medical robots. He was the recipient of the International Autodesk award for body-actuated soft prosthetic hands and European EIT-Health prize for innovation in the health sector (ICT for Health).
